Mi CIL Version Enhancement Installation Directions

Version Enhancements are downloadable at no cost when installed by the Mi CIL Member.  If you prefer to have TSI install it, please email or call Michelle to arrange an installation time.  Assistance is billed at the standard hourly rate.  Below are directions for installation.

Download and Unzip the new Version:

Download and Unzip file to your Networked DataTSI folder

Download and Unzip the new 'Front' to your Networked DataTSI folder.     (where your Data_Master.mdb is)

Rename your old MiCIL_Front database with word "old" on the end. (Example: MiCIL_Frontold)

Rename your old MiCIL_Front.mde database with word "old" on the end. (Example: MiCIL_FrontOLD.mde)

Download and Unzip file to your Networked DataTSI folder

Rename the new MiCIL_Front_03.mde to the EXACT same name as your old one was. (Example: MiCIL_Front.mde)  

This will ensure that your shortcuts will continue to work.

Re-link the Tables:

Open your new MiCIL_Front while holding your SHIFT key down.

Click once on the new MiCIL_Front.mde, then WHILE holding your SHIFT key down double click on it.  Keep holding the SHIFT key all the way until Access opens.

Click on LINKED TABLE MANAGER, Select all, Click OK and Browse to your DataMaster in the Networked DataTSI folder. Click on the OPEN button.

After Access is open:  On the menu bar, click on Linked Table Manager button, click Select all, Click OK and Browse to your DataMaster.mdb in your Networked DataTSI folder.  After you locate your DataMaster.mdb, click on the Open button.

If you do not have LINKED TABLE MANAGER installed:

If you do not have Linked Table Manager installed:  Access will prompt you for the Microsoft Office CD.

If you are on a network, the copy of MiCIL on the local PC’s will need to be updated to the new version.  Follow steps below.  If you are not networked, you are finished.

Update Local PC's:

Go to the machine you want to update. Go to the machine you want to update.
Using My Computer or Windows Explorer Go to the Networked DataTSI Folder where your Data_Master is stored. 

Using My Computer or Windows Explorer Go to the Networked DataTSI Folder where your Data_Master.mdb is stored. 

Double Click on MiCIL_Update.bat

Double Click on MiCIL_Update.bat or copy your MiCIL_Front.mde to your C:\DataTSI folder.  Say yes to over write the old copy.
